Product Testing and Approval
Product Evaluation
TechHub will thoroughly evaluate and vet all products to ensure they are high quality with a low failure rate, good rating, competitive pricing and are compatible with other product offerings.
TechHub Advisory Group Review
After products are evaluated, a report will be generated with a wide range of information including performance ratings, heat generation, battery testing, etc. along with a recommendation on whether the product should be offered along with the product category and potential customer roles or use cases. This report will be provided to the TechHub Advisory Group (TAG) for feedback, input and recommendations.
Product Documentation
Once a product is approved to be offered, the TechHub team will work with endpoint management to perform additional testing and documentation on specification, capability, compatibility, setup, usage, support, troubleshooting and repair details. This documentation will empower IT staff to easily and confidently support the product.
Adding and Removing Products
New Products
New products to be evaluated will be identified from multiple sources:
- Customer feedback: All orders completed through TechHub will include a feedback process to ask if we had what the customer was looking for and if they have recommendations on new products to offer.
- Custom orders: We will review and analyze custom orders to evaluate whether products should be added as a standard offering.
- Manufacture recommendations: When new products or technologies are released by manufacturers, we will receive early demo units to test through our vendor management program.
- TAG recommendations: The TechHub Advisory Group will be encouraged to make recommendations on new products we should offer.
- Reporting/Analytics: Reports on University assets and product usage data will help determine future product offerings.
Trial Products
TechHub will strive to offer new technologies as they become available from the manufacturers. Our large customer base enables us to offer a new product in limited quantities during a trial period. Based on sales and customer feedback, we will ramp up the offering to a larger scale or remove the trial product from the program.
Product Retirement
Technology is always advancing. Existing technologies offered through TechHub will be reviewed, evaluated and compared to newer offerings to ensure the best products are offered.
